Ceasefire on the Horizon: Trump's Hope for Putin's Agreement

Ukraine has accepted a 30-day U.S.-suggested ceasefire with Russia, subject to Moscow's approval. This comes after top-level negotiations in Saudi Arabia between Ukrainian and U.S. officials. President Donald Trump was hopeful that Russian President Vladimir Putin will also agree, saying, "Hopefully, President Putin will agree too." The U.S. has resumed military assistance and intelligence sharing with Ukraine. The cease-fire proposal contains humanitarian provisions like the exchange of prisoners and the repatriation of children who were forcibly transferred. European leaders have greeted the move as a good development toward peace.
