Centrum Capital exits housing finance business with ₹430 crore stake sale to Weaver Services

Centrum Capital has finalized the sale of its housing finance arm, Centrum Housing Finance Ltd (CHFL), to Weaver Services, a new-age housing finance company backed by marquee investors. The transaction is subject to shareholder, regulatory, and third-party approvals.  

Deal Structure And Valuation  
Centrum Capital will divest its full 56.4% stake in CHFL for ₹430 crore. Weaver Services will additionally acquire 18.6% from other stakeholders, taking its total holding to 75%. The deal values CHFL at approximately ₹800 crore, reflecting strong investor interest in the affordable housing segment.  

Strategic Rationale  
The sale allows Centrum Capital to streamline its portfolio and focus on core financial services. For Weaver Services, the acquisition provides a ready platform to scale operations in the affordable housing finance space, leveraging CHFL’s existing infrastructure and customer base.  

Investor Backing And Growth Plans  
Weaver Services is backed by Premji Invest, Lightspeed Ventures, and Gaja Capital. The company aims to expand CHFL’s reach and product offerings, targeting underserved segments with tech-enabled lending solutions.
