Connecting India: Bharatmala Pariyojana Reaches New Heights

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed that almost 20,000 km of highways have been built under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. Of the total 26,425 km, 19,826 km has been completed. The project is designed to increase logistics efficiency and connectivity, particularly in tribal and Left Wing Extremist-hit regions. High-speed corridors will cut down travel time between economic centers considerably. Smart technologies such as AI and drones are being employed in the construction process. The project would give a thrust to economic development and enhance road safety.
