CreditAccess Grameen Surges: 150,000+ New Borrowers in Early 2025

CreditAccess Grameen Ltd, the biggest microfinance player in India, has witnessed significant growth in the first two months of 2025 by bringing on board more than 150,000 new borrowers. Such strong growth reinforces the company's FY25 growth target of 23-24% expansion of its loan portfolio. The business of the microlender focusing on rural women entrepreneurs remains key to its growth, with the number of borrowers now crossing 4.9 million from 16 states and one union territory. CEO Udaya Kumar Hebbar credits the expansion to the firm's extensive rural reach and customer knowledge. Following a recent $50 million IFC investment, CreditAccess Grameen is primed to continue its leadership in the market and realize its ambitious FY25 ROA and ROE objectives.
