Delhi: AAP Legislative Party Meet, Atishi Among Contenders for LOP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will host its legislative party meeting today and choose the Delhi Assembly's Leader of Opposition (LOP). Former Chief Minister Atishi is one of the contenders for this role. The move comes at the heels of the BJP's record victory in the recent polls in Delhi and the end to AAP's decade-long reign. Atishi, who was elected from the Kalkaji constituency, has been critical of the new BJP government headed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. She recently penned a letter to Gupta challenging the execution of promised women's schemes. The choice of the LOP is important for AAP as it tries to get back on track and offer tough opposition in the assembly.
