Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has proposed a significant increase in User Development Fees (UDF) for both domestic and international flights. The new fees, if approved, could take effect from April 1, 2025. For international flights, economy class departing passengers may face fees up to Rs 810, while business class passengers could pay Rs 1,620. Domestic travelers could see UDF ranging from Rs 315 to Rs 610 during peak hours. DIAL cites financial losses exceeding Rs 1,500 crore as the reason for the revision. The proposal is currently under review by the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), with stakeholder discussions planned. Despite concerns about potential fare increases, the Department of Transportation remains optimistic that the fee hike won't significantly impact travel demand.
