Delhi's Electric Leap: How the New EV Policy Will Revolutionize Charging Infrastructure

Delhi will release its new Electric Vehicle (EV) policy next month with a huge boost to charging infrastructure. The policy will see 13,200 public charging points installed by 2030, making them available in every 5 kilometers. New constructions will have to reserve 20% of parking space for EV charging, while existing buildings will have to reserve 5%. The government will provide up to ₹30 lakh subsidy to private players to install 100 kW quick-charging stations on par with international standards. This measures the severe deficiency of charging points at just 10% of the target for the 2020 policy and aims to pace the adoption of EVs in the city.
