Delhivery’s Mega Acquisition of Ecom Express: A New Era in Indian Logistics Begins

In a move to solidify its hold in India's logistics market, Delhivery has signed a deal to acquire a 99.4% stake in Ecom Express for ₹1,407 crore in cash. The deal is expected to meaningfully add scale, profitability, and operational efficiency to Delhavery and carry no material integration risk owing to the near-complete overlap between the two firms' customer base and revenue streams.

Delhivery pointed out that incremental express parcel volumes from Ecom Express will maximize its network utilization and minimize operational redundancies. The retained revenue from the acquisition is expected to yield higher incremental gross margins, further enhancing Delhivery's bottom line. Moreover, the transaction is expected to decrease capital expenditure intensity by redeploying underutilized assets from Ecom Express.

In spite of apprehensions regarding Ecom Express' financial downturn, such as a net loss of ₹398 crore in FY25 till date, Delhavery is optimistic about the long-term profitability of the acquisition. Delhivery will reorganize duplicate infrastructure and keep competent personnel from Ecom Express to guarantee smooth incorporation.

Through this strategic merger, Delhivery wants to cement its position as a cornerstone of commerce in India's expanding logistics segment.
