DP World, Deendayal Port Authority, Nevomo To Pilot Autonomous MagRail Freight In India

DP World, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), and European tech firm Nevomo have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore autonomous magnetic rail freight movement in India. The collaboration will pilot Nevomo’s MagRail technology at Deendayal Port in Kandla, Gujarat, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country.

Pilot Project And Technology Overview

- A 750-metre MagRail track will be installed within the port to demonstrate self-propelled, electric-powered wagons using linear motor technology
