Empowering Rural Women: Entrepreneurship as a Path to Economic Freedom

The Union Budget for 2025-26 emphasizes rural prosperity through increased participation of women in the workforce and boosted entrepreneurial opportunities. A multi-sectoral Rural Prosperity and Resilience Programme will focus on enterprise development, employment and financial independence for rural women. The government will launch a ₹2 crore term loan for 5 lakh first-time women, SC, and ST entrepreneurs. This initiative addresses challenges in accessing formal credit, with the goal of transforming the rural socio-economic landscape.
