Five Hurt in Temple Cracker Blast in Kerala's Azhikode

Five individuals were injured when a cracker blast occurred at a temple in Azhikode, Kerala, during a local festival celebration. The blast happened on February 22, 2025, at the Azhikode Sree Rajarajeswari Temple, where fireworks were being detonated as part of the yearly celebrations. Locals said the persons injured, of whom two temple committee members are among them, were taken for immediate treatment in nearby hospitals and their condition was stated to be stable. A probe into how the explosion took place has been initiated by police and safety precautions for firework displays during temple festivals are under scrutiny. It has again lit the firestorm of debates pertaining to firework safety rules on Kerala temple festivities.
