Maximum temperatures in Delhi touched 41°C on Friday, roughly four degrees above the average for the season, with a low of 25.6°C.
By nightfall, a new cloud cluster caused light to moderate rain over many areas of the city, from central, south, and west Delhi.
Showers were accompanied by thunderstorms, heavy lightning, and strong winds—gusting at up to 60 kmph—just as forecast by the IMD.

Rain fell with a sensational drop in temperature at certain meteorological stations like Pitampura, Pusa, and Mayur Vihar, where levels dropped by 10°C between 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm—from 37°C to 27°C.

Neither heatwave nor "warm night" conditions are likely in Delhi at least until April 24, with clear skies predominant for the next week.
