From Chalkboards to Skill Boards: Uttarakhand’s Learning Leap

Uttarakhand is going all out to revolutionize its education system with an emphasis on inclusivity and skill development. The state has made it compulsory for ten subjects for Class X students in government schools as per the National Education Policy 2020. This is an attempt to improve educational standards and prepare students better for the challenges of the future. Also, Uttarakhand has initiated programs to enhance rural and women's education through mobile education units, open schools, and girl children scholarship schemes. The state is also adopting digital education through e-learning websites and virtual libraries so that learning goes on unabated even during breakups like the COVID-19 pandemic.
