From Handcuffs to Helping Hands: Solapur Cops Flip the Script on Crime

The Solapur Rural Police's groundbreaking 'Pahat' (Dawn) initiative is transforming lives through compassion and mentorship. Launched in September 2024 by SP Atul Kulkarni, the program pairs officers with individuals seeking rehabilitation, offering practical support and guidance. In just six months, Pahat has facilitated over 300 birth certificates, 185 caste certificates, and 200 Aadhaar cards, while helping 36 participants secure private-sector jobs. The initiative extends beyond paperwork, providing educational support and access to government schemes. As trust builds and recidivism rates drop, Pahat emerges as a beacon of hope, proving that everyone deserves a second chance at a law-abiding life.
