On April 22, 2026, the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Infrastructure Development sanctioned three new expressways for Vidarbha. The projects are expected to transform connectivity in eastern Maharashtra, supporting trade, logistics, and tourism.

Nagpur–Gondia Expressway: 162.57 km, estimated cost ₹19,582.19 crore, land acquisition ₹3,162.18 crore.

Bhandara–Gadchiroli Expressway: 94.24 km, land acquisition ₹931.15 crore.

Nagpur–Chandrapur Expressway: 204.79 km, land acquisition ₹2,353.94 crore.

Strategic Importance

These expressways will:

Reduce travel time by 40–50% across key districts.

Strengthen industrial corridors and logistics hubs.

Financing And Timeline
