Gold prices in the domestic market climbed to a lifetime high of Rs 1,44,600 per 10 grams, including all taxes, compared with the previous close of around Rs 1,41,700 per 10 grams. Silver outperformed gold with a sharp jump of nearly Rs 15,000 in a single session, rising about 6 percent to an all-time high of Rs 2,65,000 per kilogram from around Rs 2,50,000 per kilogram earlier.
