Government to Set Up 200 Day Cancer Care Centers All Over India

Union Health Minister J P Nadda has given an announcement to set up 200 day cancer care centers throughout the nation in the financial year 2025-26. This is one of the government's multi-pronged moves to make cancer care more accessible, especially in rural areas. The centers will offer routine services like chemotherapy and cancer prevention programs. The government plans to spread these facilities across all districts in the next three years, making high-quality cancer care much more accessible across the country. The step is aligned with other measures such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which has already supported many cancer treatments. Through the expansion of cancer care facilities, the government aims to mitigate the load on tertiary level care centers and ensure patients get timely and effective treatment nearer to their homes.
