Greenland Forms Unity Government Amid US Pressure and VP Vance Visit

Greenland has announced a four-party coalition government led by the Demokraatit party, coinciding with U.S. Vice President JD Vance's visit to the Arctic island. The coalition, comprising Demokraatit, Siumut, Inuit Ataqatigiit, and Atassut, holds 23 of 31 parliamentary seats, excluding the pro-independence Naleraq party. This unity government aims to counter U.S. President Donald Trump's intensified efforts to annex Greenland, citing its strategic importance. The announcement underscores Greenland's resolve against external pressures while navigating geopolitical challenges. Vance's visit includes a tour of the Pituffik Space Base, further heightening tensions between Greenland and the U.S.
