ICMR-NIV Pune Celebrates 74 Years Of Scientific Excellence

Science Outreach Initiative  
As part of a two-phase program conducted in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), NIV scientists visited schools and hosted students at the institute’s campus. The sessions introduced students to viruses, insect and bird specimens, and diagnostic kits, sparking curiosity about scientific research.

Over the past seven decades, NIV has played a pivotal role in virology research, vaccine development, and pandemic preparedness. Its work has been central to India’s response to outbreaks, including COVID-19, Nipah virus, and influenza.
