IFC Anchors ₹220 Crore Investment in HDFC AMC’s Private Credit Fund to Empower Mid Market Enterprises

HDFC Asset Management Company Limited (HDFC AMC) has announced a strategic partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to strengthen private credit availability for India’s mid-market corporate sector. The collaboration is expected to provide alternative debt financing to underserved enterprises, fostering growth and job creation.

Fund Structure:

• HDFC AMC’s Structured Credit Fund-I, a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF).
• Target corpus: ₹1,500 crore, with an additional ₹1,000 crore green-shoe option.

Anchor Investment:

• IFC to contribute up to ₹220 crore as anchor investor.

Commitments Secured:

• First close has already raised ₹1,290 crore from institutional investors, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNIs).
• HDFC AMC itself has committed up to 14% of the fund corpus.

Objective:

• Enhance private credit access for mid-market enterprises.
• Support companies with limited access to traditional financing channels.
• Drive economic growth and employment through structured credit solutions.
