IIT Indore Empowers Rural Workers with Skill Development Training in Simrol

Inside the programme  
Organized under the DST-SEED project titled “Livelihood Interventions for Scheduled Caste Workers through Shramik Vikas Community-Based Training Programmes,” the workshop aimed to empower rural workers with practical knowledge and modern techniques. Faculty members and technical experts from IIT Indore guided participants on sustainable farming practices, efficient use of locally available construction materials, and advanced post-harvest solutions. The initiative reflects IIT Indore’s commitment to rural empowerment, technological outreach, and inclusive development.  

Notable updates  
• Conducted on November 19–20, 2025, at Nayagaon Goshala, Simrol  
• 190 workers participated in hands-on training sessions  
• Focus areas included organic farming, construction material skills, and post-harvest management
