India Goes Global: Operation Truth Targets Pakistan’s Terror Playbook

In a historic decision, the Indian government today launched a global, all-encompassing campaign to expose Pakistan's supposed terror support. The move comes on the heels of the April 22 terror strike in Pahalgam, Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed, and India's follow-up Operation...

The campaign, defined as one of the largest in terms of scale, will involve a 40-member, multi-party Indian parliamentarian delegation visiting prominent world capitals like Washington D.C., London, Abu Dhabi, Pretoria, and Tokyo from May 23. The delegations will be broken down into seven groups and will be led by officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and will have dossiers of evidence on terror groups based in Pakistan and their involvement in recent attacks.

Prominent MPs such as Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Sasmit Patra, Sanjay Jha, Salman Khurshid, and Aparajita Sarangi are among the list of participants. The campaign aims to generate international consensus against cross-border terrorism and foreground India's measured response, with the emphasis that Operation Sindoor was a proportionate and responsible one in eliminating terror challenges without precipitating wider conflict.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, who is spearheading the effort, said that the combined diplomatic effort reflects India's political unity on national security. The delegations will meet lawmakers, officials, and think tanks in the two nations for the formation of international cooperation against terrorism.

India's action has been received with conflicting responses globally, with some nations requesting India to show restraint while others have supported India's right to self-defense. Pakistan, on its part, rejected the charges and requested an international inquiry into the Pahalgam attack. With the delegations planning to leave next week, everyone's eyes are on whether India's diplomatic push can mobilize international opinion and pressure Pakistan into halting terror operations from its soil.
