India Opens Doors to Vintage Car Imports: A New Era for Auto Enthusiasts

In a landmark move, the Indian government has revised its import policy, allowing cars aged 50 years or older to be imported licence-free. This rolling policy, effective February 2025, extends eligibility to vehicles manufactured up to 1975, with subsequent years adding newer models. While customs duties and GST apply, resale is strictly prohibited. This change is set to boost vintage car restoration and celebrate automotive heritage in India.
