India Plans to Bid for 2030 Commonwealth Games

India will bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, with the government planning to begin the process in the near future. The deadline for filing an 'Expression of Interest' is March 31, 2025. India plans to have all the disciplines that were removed from the 2026 edition in Glasgow in order to retain its medal count. The Indian Olympic Association has had informal meetings with the Commonwealth Games Federation in respect of the potential to host the event. New Delhi and Ahmedabad are shortlisted as potential host cities for the centenary edition of the Games.
