India Recognized as Global Leader in Space and Biotechnology

Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that India is being recognized as a global leader in space technology, biotechnology, and preventive healthcare, attributing this success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Speaking at the ‘Science and Technology Expo 2025’ at IIT Jammu, Singh highlighted India’s advancements, including its ranking as third in the world in start-up ecosystems with over 1.7 lakh start-ups. He noted that over 55% of patents are filed by resident Indians, and India is home to over 5,500 of the world’s top 2% of scientists. India’s space sector aims to reach $44 billion by 2033. The minister also emphasized India’s progress in biotechnology, with the sector growing significantly due to policies like BIO-E3.
