India to be World's Most Desired Consumer Market: Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley predicts India to become the most desirable consumer market globally on the back of key structural elements including a high population growth rate, stable democracy, and macroeconomic stability. India is also expected to face a fundamental shift in energy usage, experience rising credit-to-GDP ratio, and a shift towards a rising share of manufacturing contribution to GDP. Morgan Stanley is bullish on India's long-term growth potential, using its low-beta characteristic to argue that the country will fare better in times of uncertainty in the world economy. The company expects growth to recover with GDP growth of 6.3% in FY25 and 6.5% in FY26. This is underpinned by constructive policy moves, such as the RBI's accommodative stance and a robust government budget.
