India To Host Sri Lanka For Five-Match Women’s T20I Series In December

 India’s women’s cricket team is set to face Sri Lanka in a five-match T20I series scheduled between December 21 and 30, 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the fixtures, which will be played across two venues: Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram. This series comes just ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in January 2026 and will act as a crucial build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England next June.  

Key highlights from the announcement include 

• The series will begin on December 21 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.  
• The second T20I will also be played in Visakhapatnam on December 23.  
• The Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram will host the third, fourth, and fifth matches on December 26, 28, and 30 respectively.  
• India last played a T20I series in July 2025 against England, winning 3-2.  
• Sri Lanka’s last T20I series was against New Zealand in March 2025, which ended 1-1 after a washout.  
• The series will provide valuable match practice for India ahead of the WPL and the T20 World Cup.  
• The last meeting between India and Sri Lanka women was at the ODI World Cup opener on September 30, 2025.
