Indian Housing Market Surges: 10% Price Hike in Top 8 Cities for 16th Straight Quarter

India's domestic realty market continues its positive run, with average house prices in the top 8 cities growing by 10% year-on-year during Q4 2024. This is the 16th successive quarter of growth since 2021, based on the most recent CREDAI-Colliers-Liases Foras report. Delhi-NCR was the leader with a 31% rise annually, followed by Bengaluru at 23%. The upsurge is because of robust demand across segments, especially in luxury housing. Interestingly, the unsold stock in India fell below 10 lakh units for the first time in two years, indicating high demand. Company heads are confident, attributing changing consumer choice towards bigger spaces and improved facilities as major motivators.
