India’s electronics manufacturing sector has surged fivefold in the past 10 years, crossing ₹11 lakh crore, according to IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Speaking at the inauguration of a state-of-the-art SMT line in Manesar, he credited the “Make in India” initiative for this exponential growth, with exports jumping six times to over ₹3.25 lakh crore and 2.5 million new jobs created. Advanced nations now increasingly procure electronics from India because of its product quality, innovation, and respect for intellectual property. The recently approved Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme will further elevate India's profile on the global map, promoting supply chains and employment opportunities.
