India's Technical Textiles Industry Set for Revolutionary Growth

India's technical textiles sector, worth $29 billion in FY2024, is witnessing a revolutionary upsurge. The government's National Technical Textiles Mission, supported by a Rs 14.80 billion investment, seeks to make India a world leader in the high-performance materials market. Budget 2025-26 has provided Rs 52.72 billion to the Ministry of Textiles, a 19% hike compared to the last fiscal, reflecting the focus on innovation and development. With a 5.3% CAGR growth in exports since FY2019, India aims to reach technical textile exports of Rs 874.50 billion by FY2026. The business is spread across several segments, with Packtech remaining at the forefront with 44% market share, spurred by retail and e-commerce growth.
