Manu Bhaker (Olympic shooter), D. Gukesh (Chess World Champion), Harmanpreet Singh (Hockey Captain), and Praveen Kumar (Paralympic Gold Medalist) were celebrated for their outstanding achievements. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya praised the awardees, calling them the "pride of the country" who elevate India's international sporting reputation during the National Sports Awards ceremony held on January 17, 2025. Mandaviya also highlighted the significant contributions of para-athletes, with 17 awardees showcasing exceptional talent at international events.
