Kajaria Ceramics, the top Indian manufacturer of ceramic and vitrified tiles, has made a strategic decision to drop further investment in Shri Vinayak Ply Industries as part of altering its plywood strategy. This move indicates a more comprehensive strategy to concentrate on core strengths and maximize the utilization of resources in its subsidiaries.

Investment Discontinuation: Kajaria Ceramics has opted not to go ahead with further investments in Shri Vinayak Ply Industries, a step towards consolidating its plywood business.

Concentration on Core Business: The company is focusing on its core tile manufacturing business, where it has registered a 6.3% increase in sales volume for FY24 at 108.14 million square meters.

Plywood Business Strategy: Kajaria Ceramics refuses to let go of its plywood subsidiary, Kajaria Plywood, even with this change of heart. It is also looking to further its investment here from ₹80 crore to ₹115 crore for boosting operational capability and market influence.

Diversification Efforts: Kajaria Ceramics keeps diversifying its product basket with subsidiaries such as Kajaria Bathware and Kajaria International DMCC, opening up more scope in the business of building material.
