Kashmir’s Cyber Prodigy: Young Hacker Protects Apple, NASA & Google

At just 22, Muneeb Amin Bhat from Zungalpora, Kulgam in Kashmir, has made significant contributions to cybersecurity by identifying and rectifying vulnerabilities in the systems of tech giants like Apple and NASA. His expertise earned him a spot in Apple's 'Hall of Fame' in 2023 and NASA's 'Hall of Fame' in 2024. A self-taught ethical hacker, Muneeb began his journey at nine, hacking into friends' social media accounts and Wi-Fi networks to understand security flaws. Despite limited internet access and electricity in his village, he pursued his passion, becoming the local 'gadget fixer.' After two years of BTech, he shifted to a BCA in cybersecurity through IGNOU to focus on his interests. Muneeb has also enhanced the security of systems belonging to Oracle, McDonald's, Intel, USAA, and Indeed. He emphasizes that in today's digital age, no organization is entirely secure, highlighting the crucial role of ethical hackers in safeguarding data.
