Jammu and Kashmir is experiencing a revolutionary path to becoming an integral education hub of India. In recent times, there have been efforts to upgrade 40 government schools as integrated K-12 schools in the ₹180 crore budget, with ensuring smooth education in tune with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The territory has also witnessed a record 50 degree colleges being established and more than 45,000 out-of-school children being enrolled, with girls being particularly benefited. Efforts towards the introduction of private universities and infrastructure development at IITs, IIMs, and polytechnic colleges are constructing the horizon of higher education and skill development. However, problems of untrained personnel (78% at KG level) and inadequate digital resources persist.
