Lemon Tree Deepens Temple-Town Footprint With New Kumbakonam Hotel

Lemon Tree Hotels has signed a license agreement for a new 66-room Lemon Tree Hotel in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, further strengthening its South India presence. The premium property, to be managed by subsidiary Carnation Hotels, will target spiritual tourism, cultural travel, and business demand in one of the region’s most important heritage hubs.

The company notified the stock exchanges on 25 May 2026 that the licensed hotel will operate under the Lemon Tree brand in Kumbakonam. Positioned in Tamil Nadu’s temple belt, the asset underlines Lemon Tree’s strategy of scaling in high-potential Tier II and Tier III markets. It also supports the group’s broader pipeline expansion across spiritual and transit corridors.
