Maharashtra Introduces PSU Amnesty Scheme to Boost Tax Revenue

Maharashtra has launched an amnesty scheme for public sector undertakings (PSUs) to settle pending tax arrears. The 'Maharashtra Settlement of Arrears of Tax, Interest, Penalty or late Fee (Payable by the Public Sector Undertaking Companies) Act, 2025' will be effective until December 31, 2025. This initiative aims to increase the state's own tax revenue, which is projected at ₹3,87,674 crore for FY 2025-26. The scheme is part of broader efforts to enhance financial discipline and boost state finances.
