Mangaldai Media Circle Appeals to Rebuild Historic Gohain Kamal Ali

The Mangaldai Media Circle (MMC) has appealed to the government of Assam to rebuild and conserve the historic Gohain Kamal Ali road. This 350-mile long road built in 1547 was the link between Coochbehar and sections of Assam, demonstrating the military strategy of Mahaveer Chilarai. The MMC highlighted the road's historical importance and the present deplorable condition, with remnants found only in Barpeta, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, and Udalguri districts. The organization also demanded a national program at New Delhi to commemorate Mahaveer Chilarai, equating him to great military leaders such as Shivaji and Napoleon Bonaparte.
