The film will recreate one of the most daring peacekeeping missions by the Indian Army abroad, the valour and grit of soldiers who were stranded in Sierra Leone.

The Story Behind Operation Khukri
The film is based on Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Army's Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad, a bestseller authored by Rajpal Punia and Damini Punia.

It reports the gruesome story of 233 Indian troops under siege by rebel forces in Sierra Leone in 2000, cut off from supplies for nearly three months.

The rescue operation, commanded by then-Company Commander Rajpal Punia, was one of intense jungle battles and tactical maneuvering to rescue the pinned-down soldiers.

Randeep Hooda's Character and Production Details Hooda will be playing Major General Rajpal Punia, one of the main actors of the operation.

Rahul Mittra Films and Randeep Hooda Films are co-producing the film for the very first time.
