In a strong gesture to enhance diplomatic ties, the Israeli Foreign Ministry recently screened John Abraham's movie "The Diplomat" as part of the welcome ceremony for JP Singh, India's new ambassador to Israel. The movie, directed by Shivam Nair, is inspired by a true diplomatic crisis managed by Singh and reflects the strength and dignity of Indian diplomacy. It was the initial time the movie had ever been shown out of India, a historical premiere that emphasizes the strong bond between the two countries.
Nurit Tiwary, director of the cultural department at the Israeli Foreign Ministry, called the screening an occasion of pride for the two nations. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar appreciated the film's depiction of diplomatic issues, citing the value of distinctive insights on the ground. The screening was witnessed by senior officials, among them Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who conveyed his warm wishes to Ambassador Singh.
