Air India Flights to London Heathrow Disrupted, Gatwick Operations Unaffected

Air India has announced the cancellation of all remaining flights to and from London Heathrow for March 21, 2025, due to the airport's closure caused by a significant power outage. This disruption affects flights such as AI 129 from Mumbai, which is returning to Mumbai, and AI 161 from Delhi, which is diverting to Frankfurt. However, flights to London Gatwick remain unaffected, providing an alternative for passengers traveling between India and the UK. Air India will update on the resumption of operations at Heathrow as soon as more information is available.

 

The power outage at Heathrow, resulting from a fire at a nearby electrical substation, has caused widespread disruptions, impacting over 1,300 flights and tens of thousands of passengers. Travelers are advised to contact their airlines for further updates.
