On November 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Surat to review the ongoing construction of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), India’s first bullet train project. Accompanied by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Modi visited the Antroli site where the Surat station is being built and interacted with engineers and project officials.
The MAHSR spans 508 km, connecting key cities across Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Maharashtra. Once operational, the corridor will reduce travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to approximately two hours. Modi emphasized the project’s role in ushering India into a new era of high-speed infrastructure and economic integration.
