Delhi Rewards Excellence: Olympic Medallists To Get Crores, Students Free Laptops

In a landmark move to promote sports and digital education, the Delhi government has approved major incentives for Olympic winners and meritorious students. The decisions were finalized during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on July 22.
 
Olympic Cash Awards And Job Benefits
  • Under the Mukhyamantri Khel Protsahan Yojana, Olympic gold medallists from Delhi will now receive ₹7 crore, silver medallists ₹5 crore, and bronze winners ₹3 crore.
  • Gold and silver medallists will be offered Group A jobs in the Delhi government, while bronze medallists will be eligible for Group B positions.
  • The revised awards mark a significant increase from the previous ₹3 crore, ₹2 crore, and ₹1 crore structure.
Digital Push For Students
  • The Mukhyamantri Digital Scheme will provide free i7 laptops to 1,200 Class 10 students who have scored high marks.
  • The initiative aims to support underprivileged youth and foster holistic development through access to technology.
  • Laptops will be distributed based on academic merit and socioeconomic criteria.
