Eid al-Adha, or Bakrid, is being celebrated across India this weekend, and bank operations will be affected in many states. Here’s a clear breakdown of where banks are open or closed on Saturday, June 7, 2025, so you can plan your banking needs.
Key Highlights:
Most states will see banks closed on June 7 for Bakrid, following the Reserve Bank of India’s regional holiday calendar.
States and cities where banks will be closed include: Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad (AP & Telangana), Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, and more.
Banks will remain open in Ahmedabad, Gangtok, Itanagar, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram, as June 7 is the first Saturday of the month and not a regular bank holiday in these locations.
All banks nationwide will be closed on Sunday, June 8, for the weekly holiday.
Digital banking services (net banking, UPI, mobile apps, ATMs) will remain operational everywhere, even if branches are closed.
Customers are encouraged to use online services for transactions and plan any urgent in-branch visits accordingly.
