Maharashtra government extends the e-KYC deadline for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana by 15 days for women in flood-affected areas. This measure addresses technical challenges and ensures no eligible beneficiary misses out on the monthly ₹1,500 support amid ongoing server improvements.
Ladki Bahin Scheme: Extended e-KYC Deadline for Flood-Affected Women
Maharashtra's Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare announced a 15-day extension of the e-KYC completion deadline for beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana residing in flood-hit regions. This extension is aimed at alleviating difficulties faced during the e-KYC process due to both logistical challenges and technical server issues.
The flagship scheme, which provides ₹1,500 monthly financial support to eligible women, requires completing e-KYC verification by November. Minister Tatkare highlighted that significant enhancements to the e-KYC server system are underway to ensure faster and smoother processing. So far, about 11 million women, roughly 90% of applicants, have completed the process, with 400,000 to 500,000 daily verifications being processed.
The government’s priority remains to ensure that no eligible woman is excluded due to technical or accessibility barriers, especially in flood-impacted districts such as Solapur, Beed, Jalna, and Dharashiv. Women affected by floods will benefit from this extended timeline, enabling them to claim their rightful entitlements without undue stress or loss of benefits.
Minister Tatkare acknowledged the challenges faced by beneficiaries, including network connectivity issues and delays in receiving OTPs, particularly for women in remote and tribal areas. The government is dedicated to resolving these concerns while continuing to support women through common service centers and Aadhaar operators.
