BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut recently sold her Mumbai Pali Hill bungalow for ₹32 crore, reportedly to finance her ambitious directorial project Emergency. The film, which is based on the 1975 Emergency period, was affected by the delays due to certification issues, increasing the cost. The sale of the property is a significant step by Kangana, who purchased the bungalow in 2017 for ₹20 crore and also converted part of it into her production office.
Despite financial losses, Kangana's net worth is a whopping ₹91 crore, backed by real estate and endorsement contracts. OTT also helped her stabilise her finances, as her films became hits online.
As Emergency awaits its new release date, Kangana's bold choices say a lot about her commitment to storytelling and resilience in the face of adversity.
