India's booming creator economy will fuel over $1 trillion of annual consumer spending by 2030, according to a new report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG) released at WAVES 2025 in Mumbai. With 2–2.5 million active digital creators-with 1,000+ followers-India's creators are already fueling $350–400 billion in consumer decisions every year and shaping over 30% of all consumer spend.

While only 8–10% of creators are currently monetizing effectively, direct ecosystem revenues are projected to expand from $20–25 billion currently to $100–125 billion by the end of the decade. Creators' reach is expanding at lightening speed beyond Gen Z and metros to inclusive age groups and smaller cities. Short-form video dominates, with comedy, films, soaps, and fashion emerging as top genres.

This suggests an overall shift in India's commerce and marketing, where brands need to double creator partnerships 1.5–3x over the next years.
