From Cricket Field to Silver Screen: Simbu’s Bold Play to Portray Virat Kohli

Kollywood actor Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu, has set social media abuzz by openly expressing his strong wish to portray Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli in a biopic. While speaking at an IPL 2025 promotional event, Simbu said that his respect for Kohli goes beyond his cricketing achievements. "Virat's journey from a passionate Delhi boy to a global cricket superstar is inspiring. His aggression, discipline, and never-give-up attitude resonate with me as an actor," Simbu remarked.

 

The actor also highlighted how Kohli’s emotional highs and lows, both on and off the field, offer a compelling story for the big screen. Simbu believes he can authentically capture Kohli’s intensity and charisma, making the biopic relatable for fans across India. He added, “It’s not just about cricket; it’s about the spirit of fighting against odds-something every Indian connects with.”
