Indian women's hockey team ended their Australian tour on a positive note, defeating the home side 1-0 in the final match on the Perth Hockey Stadium on Sunday. The breakthrough came in the 21st minute when vice-captain Navneet Kaur hit the only goal of the match, providing India with their only win of the tour.

Australia began well, controlling the first quarter and being awarded two penalty corners, but the Indian defense was intact to maintain the scoreline level. India capitalized on their chance early in the second quarter, Navneet Kaur's field goal taking them into the lead. The latter part of the game was an evenly fought game, with both teams trying to increase the scoreline. But the Indian team showed composure and determination in defense, managing to hold their lead.

Australia received their crucial chance to equalize in the fourth quarter through a penalty corner, but failed to utilize it, and India sealed a historic victory. It was after a rigorous tour, during which India had lost their previous four matches-two to each of the Australian A and the full Australian side.

The tour served as an important preparatory assignment for the Indian side ahead of their forthcoming FIH Pro League 2024-25 European tour, with midfielder Salima Tete leading the team during the five-match tour.
