In the wake of escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have taken to social media to express their unwavering support and gratitude for the Indian armed forces.

Anushka Sharma, whose father Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma is a retired army officer and Kargil War veteran, posted a heartfelt message on Instagram. She described the armed forces as real heroes, stating she is eternally grateful for their protection during these challenging times. She extended her gratitude not only to the soldiers but also to their families, acknowledging the immense sacrifices they make for the nation.

Virat Kohli echoed his wife’s sentiments, saluting the armed forces for their bravery and dedication. He emphasized that the country is forever indebted to these heroes for their unwavering courage and the sacrifices made by them and their families. Kohli’s message came shortly after the Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended for a week due to security concerns amid the ongoing conflict.

Their public statements come just days after India launched Operation Sindoor, a precision military operation targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was conducted in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including tourists. In response, Pakistan initiated a series of drone and missile attacks along the western border, but the Indian defence forces successfully neutralized all incoming threats.
