Game, Set, Law! Lawyers Make History at India’s First Pickleball League

India’s legal fraternity traded courtrooms for courts as the nation’s first exclusive Pickleball League for lawyers made a vibrant debut in South Delhi. The LawStrings Pickleball Premier League – Lawyer’s Edition, held at Rackonnect Exclusive Padel Pickle Park in Mehrauli, brought together senior advocates, legal professionals, and emerging talent for a spirited two-day tournament.

Key Highlights:

The league, conceptualised by Shubham Malhotra of LawStrings Management, featured eight franchise teams, each owned and captained by prominent names from the legal community.
Teams like Smash Squad (led by Senior Advocate Sonia Mathur), Legal Pickle (Advocate Shrey Sharawat), Networkers (Senior Advocate Haripriya Padmanabhan), and Lex Saviours (Advocate Praveen Kumar) advanced to the semi-finals after competitive group-stage matches.
Other teams, including Pickle Pleaders, Sood Smashers, Amicus Ace, and Supreme Strikers, will compete for final rankings, ensuring all participants remain engaged throughout the event.
The league was lauded for blending law and leisure, offering a much-needed break from the high-stress legal profession and fostering camaraderie, wellness, and networking among lawyers.
Matches were played in various formats—mixed doubles, singles, and team showdowns—making the sport accessible to both seasoned racquet players and newcomers.

Organisers and participants expressed enthusiasm for making the league an annual tradition, further boosting pickleball’s popularity in India.

The winners will be crowned on Sunday, with the event already hailed as a landmark moment for both the legal and sporting communities.
